Boating and water skiing are extremely popular at Lake Shawnee, and summer weekends find the lake buzzing with happy folks enjoying tubing, skiing, wakeboarding, jet skis, and just cruising around the lake in their favorite craft.
The Lake Shawnee Boat & Water Ski Club promotes safe and enjoyable boating and water ski activities. They teach newbies to ski with special
equipment and patient instructors, and they put on
a water ski show each year with some amazing
demonstrations of skill and experience on the water.
The club also maintains a slalom course on the lake
for those who wish to practice for ski competition.
There are no-wake hours on the lake each morning
and evening, and such times often find sailboats, canoes, and kayaks gliding silently across the surface.
Due to the small size and shape of our narrow lake, all boats must travel only in a counter-clockwise direction at all times. See our bylaws for more important rules and safety codes. |
